Phineas Schrock

PHINEAS J. SCHROCK, 94, of Arthur, IL passed away at 9:20 P.M. on Friday July 26, 2013 at the Arthur Home.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Otto Center in rural Arthur, IL. Bishop Harvey Chupp will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be any time after 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Otto Center in rural Arthur, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Phineas was born on April 28, 1919 in McMinnville, OR. He was a son of Joe D. and Rachel (Christner) Schrock. He married Anna Schrock on March 30, 1950.

He is survived by his wife Anna Schrock; one daughter, Carol Schrock; one son, Roger Schrock and his wife Anna Mae (Diener) all of Arthur, IL; four grandchildren, Delmar Schrock and his wife Linda, Juanita Kauffman and her husband Rick, Kenny Schrock and his wife Erica and Althea Schrock; eight great-grandchildren, Dillion, Michelle, Cameron, Audrianna, Braden, Kendall, Logan and Trinity and one brother, Henry Schrock of Hutchinson, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kenneth Lynn, six brothers and five sisters.

Phineas was a member of the Old Order Amish. He retired from the Cadwell Grain Elevator in 1981 but continued to work at Rockome Gardens. He enjoyed playing the harp and whistling
