PHYLLIS KAY STANTON, 66, of Arcola, IL passed away at 6:27 P.M. on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital.
Funeral Services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main in Arcola, IL. Rev. Ivan Jess officiated. Burial was in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation was from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home on Sunday, October 4, 2009.
Phyllis was born March 18, 1943 in Arcola, IL. She was a daughter of Earl and Icie (Anderson) Huckstep. She married Galeard Stanton in February of 1968. He passed away October 14, 1984.
She is survived by twin sons Troy Stanton and his wife Elizabeth of Arcola, IL and Tim Stanton of Arcola, IL; one brother Earl Huckstep Jr. of Arcola, IL; four sisters Norma Jean Hudson of Arcola, IL, Sandra Closson and her husband William of Arcola, IL, Edna Mae Daniels and her husband Gerald of Arcola, IL and Mary Jane Wyatt and her husband Otis of Carbondale, IL; 5 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three step grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband and two brothers, David and Harold Huckstep preceded her in death.
Phyllis worked at We Care Nursing Home in Arcola for several years. She enjoyed bird watching, collecting angels and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
