RACHEL LEE MATTLIN, 53, of rural Sadorus, IL passed away at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at her home.
A Celebration of Rachel’s Life was held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main, Arcola, IL. Visitation was held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial was in the Bailey Memorial Cemetery in Tolono, IL on Thursday, June 27, 2013.
Rachel was born on April 29, 1960 in Maceo, KY. She was the daughter of James Franklin and Ruby Jane (Heath) Decker. She married Danny Robert Mattlin on October 29, 1976 in Tolono, IL he passed away on December 30, 1995.
She is survived by three children, Wenona Campbell and her husband Randall of Sadorus, IL, Derek Mattlin of Arcata, CA, and Amy Mattlin of Sadorus, IL; four grandchildren, Taylor Mattlin, Emily Watson, Madison Sekol, and Chelsea Mattlin; her mother, Ruby Decker of Arthur, IL; two brothers, James Franklin Decker Jr. “Jim Bob” of Tulsa, OK and Zyndle Decker of Kemp, IL; one sister Rhonda Schrock and her husband Willis of Arcola, IL; one half brother, Anthony Decker of Kansas, IL and her special friend Joe Daugherty.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; one son, Danny Robert Mattlin Jr.; grandparents; and sister, Lisa Decker.
Rachel was recently employed at Herff-Jones in Champaign, IL. She loved being outside, fishing, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen cancer center.
