Biography REBECCA HOCHSTEDLER, 78, of Arthur, IL passed away at 10:02 A.M. on Monday, August 24, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the Otto Center in Arthur, IL. Bishop Howard Kuhns will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in rural Arcola, IL. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the Otto Center and from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Otto Center . The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting Rebecca’s family with funeral arrangements.
Rebecca was born on February 6, 1931 in Arthur, IL. She was a daughter of Andrew L. and Lydia (Schrock) Mast. She married Omer J. Hochstedler on January 29, 1953 in Arthur, IL. He passed away on November 7, 2007.
She is survived one daughter Marjorie Herschberger and her husband Ira of Arcola, IL and one son Dale Hochstedler and his wife Lucinda of Mocksville, NC; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one brother Fred Mast and his wife Mary of Mifflinburg, PA; two sisters Sovilla Gingerich and her husband Elva and Anna Plank and her husband Joni; two sister-in-laws, Lois Mast of Carmi, IL and Mary Ann Mast of Arthur, IL and one brother-in-law Abe Gingerich of Arthur, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, William, Jonas, Levi and Joe Mast and one sister, Sarah Gingerich.
Rebecca was a member of the Pleasant View Church in rural Arcola, IL.
