RICHARD SCOTT EDWARDS II, 41, of Tuscola, IL passed away Sunday evening March 7, 2010 in Tuscola, IL.

Private funeral services were held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Edwards Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Baker officiated. Visitation was from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main in Arcola, IL.

Rick was born on July 26, 1968 in Urbana Illinois. He left this world on Sunday, March 7, 2010 in Tuscola, Illinois. Ricky moved to Charleston, Illinois with his family in 1972. As a youngster he enjoyed hiking through the woods, going down to snake creek swinging on grape vines with his friends and siblings. In 1980 he moved to Roswell, GA attending Roswell High School. One of Rick’s greatest gifts was his open heart and eagerness, showing a genuine friendship and kindness for anyone. He seemed to be the neighborhood mechanic, fixing everybody’s bicycle and skateboard.

As young man he returned to the Arcola area in the early 1990’s. He enjoyed working with his hands in the landscape and automotive repair industry. Rick always seemed to have a project underway, but always had the time to “hang” with friends talking shop. He was glad to help them fix their cars, enjoying a good joke and occasionally being a bit of a prankster.

His greatest love was his three children; Lexi, Jo-Jo, and Buddy. You would always hear the excitement in his voice as he shared stories about them. He was always so proud to sit in the bleachers and cheer them on. Rick will be missed by his family and friends…

Rick is survived by his son Braedyn Scott Edwards; two daughters Alexondria Melissa Edwards and Jordyn Rachel Edwards all of Arcola, IL; two brothers, Jeffrey Edwards of Jacksonville, FL and Patrick Edwards of Champaign, IL; two sisters, Wendy Weir and her husband Brian of Fort Bragg, NC and Amy Edmonds and her husband Michael of La Concern, Switzerland. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Paula Edwards of Eagle, ID and his maternal grandparents, Carl and Beulah Davis of Urbana, IL.

Rick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas M. Edwards and Barbara Scott Edwards, formerly from Grayson, GA.
