ROBERT F. MORRIS, 81, of Marshall, IL passed away at 7:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at his residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 17, 2014 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshall, IL. Father Mike Haag will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery in Arcola, IL. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. with a wake service starting at 3:00 P.M. at the Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Bob was born April 14, 1932 in Humboldt, IL. He was a son of Dewey and Mary Margaret (Guill) Morris. He married Patricia McLane April 29, 1955 in Ft. Lee, VA. She passed away February 7, 2002.

Survivors include one daughter Kathy Morris of Bloomington, IL and one son David and his wife Denita Morris of Marshall; 2 grandsons Denny Morris of Marshall, IL and DJ Morris of Tucson, AZ; 5 great-grandchildren Drew, Maddie and Gage Morris of Marshall and Izabelle and Dalton Morris of Tucson, AZ; one brother Leonard (George) and his wife Marge of Mattoon, IL; one sister Pauline Lawrence of Arcola, IL and a special friend, Betty Fraker.

His wife; one brother William Morris and one sister Karen Hohlbauch preceded him in death.

Bob was an Army Veteran. He was a High School Math teacher. He started his teaching career in Nokomis and Cisne and retired from Marshall High School in 1989 after 32 years of service.

Bob was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshall and also a member for over 40 years of the American Legion Post 90 in Marshall where he served as Senior Vice Commander.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting and any sporting event involving his great-grandchildren and his great-great-nieces.

Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Marshal or the Marshall Athletic Boosters.
