Roberto Garza Becerra, 65, of Arcola, IL passed away at 12:36 AM on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Arcola, IL. Father Juan Carlos Ruiz will officiate. Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home.
Roberto was born on September 14, 1958 in Cadereyta N.L. Mexico. He was the son of Alfonzo and Maria Socorro (Becerra Montoya) Garza Garcia. He married Edith Garza on December 20, 1994 in Cadereyta N.L. Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Garza of Arcola, IL, three children, Amanda Hall and her husband Aaron of Champaign, IL, Alfonzo Garza of Arcola, IL and Jacob Garza of Humboldt, CA, three grandchildren, Destinee Tuttle of Charleston, IL, Dreauna Quinn of Champaign, IL, and Weslee McDevitt of Charleston, IL, one brother Robespier Garza, Elizabeth Garza, one half brother, Jose Angel Garza all of Cadereyta N.L. Mexico and a special sister, Carmen Becerra of Mattoon, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Deshaun Quinn.
Roberto worked at Libman Broom Factory for over 25 years, he worked for Diener Hardwood Flooring for the past five years.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Arcola, IL.
Roberto enjoyed listening to music, especially while riding around in his car. He loved watching soccer, Monterrey being his favorite team. Roberto was always ready to help anyone who needed a hand.
