Biography

RUSSELL RAY INGRUM, 75 of Arcola, IL passed away at 1:32 P.M. on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 24, 2011 at the United Methodist Church, 121 South Locust Street in Arcola, IL. Rev. Vince Rohn will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main in Arcola, IL. Masonic rites will be conducted at 5:45 P.M. on Sunday, October 23, 2011 by the Arcola Masonic Lodge 366 AF and AM.

Russell was born on December 4, 1935 in Tuscola, IL. He was a son of Hubert and Edith Margaret (Durnil) Ingrum. He married Harriet Elaine Miller on December 7, 1958.

Russell is survived by his wife Harriet Ingrum of Arcola, IL; two daughters, Abby Lynn Ingrum of Urbana, IL and Angela Jo Kennedy and her husband Patrick of Cary, IL; one granddaughter, Monica Autumn Kennedy of Cary, IL; one brother, Roger Ingrum and his wife Patricia of New Concord, KY and three sisters, Mildred Childress of Alden, MN, Ethel Needham of Denver, CO and Mary Olehy of Crawfordsville, IN

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joe Ingrum and Lawrence Ingrum; three sisters, Maxine Ingrum, Vera Hussong and Fern Emberton, one step-brother, Dale Utsler and one step-sister, Nora Utsler.

Russell had worked at USI in Tuscola and later for his father-in-law Clarence Miller at Miller’s Service Station in Arcola, IL. He operated Miller Oil Bulk Gas Plant, and most recently, he worked at the Arcola True Value for over twenty years, retiring in 2010.

Russell was a member of the Arcola United Methodist Church, The World Famous Lawn Rangers, Arcola Lions Club, and the Arcola Masonic Lodge. He served on the Arcola City Zoning Board and was an Arcola Township Cemetery Trustee for many years.

Memorials may be made to the Arcola United Methodist Church, the Arcola Lions Club or the Julee Arthur Memorial Scholarship Fund.
