Ruth Bellard

RUTH FERN (PEELER, DRAKE) BELLARD, 73, of Fithian, IL formerly of Arcola, IL passed away at 11:29 A.M. on Monday, June 27, 2011 at her home.

A funeral service was held at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Visitation was held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Ruth was born on March 13, 1938 in Douglas County, Illinois. She was a daughter of John Albert Sr. and Sylvia Lydia (Conner) Peeler.

She is survived by her children; Debra Sue Drake (Darold Buller) of Mattoon, IL, Sharon Yvonne (Drake) Lindstrom (Andy Junkin) of Fithian, IL, Jesse “Jake” Lee Drake Jr. of Gulfport Mississippi and Sylvia Marie (Drake) Logston of Arcola, IL, Kimberly Ann (Bellard) Hebert of Basile, LA.; her grandchildren Wrobria Vahling, Nathan LeJeune, Rebecca Lindstrom, Melissa Lindstrom, Casper Lindstrom, Jesse Drake III, Ashley Hebert, Jacob Anderson, Starlet Logston, Eric Arabie, Erica Arabie, Jonathan Arabie; and many great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Leroy Bellard, her parents, five brothers, Harold, Gerald, Clark, John Jr. and Frank Peeler, two sisters, a stillborn infant and Mary Lucinda Peeler, and one granddaughter, Lorraine LeJeune.

Ruth drove a school bus in Arcola, IL for many years. She had worked at Zenith and what used to be Embassy, in Arcola, IL. She also had worked at Good’s South Side Market. She enjoyed helping others in need.

She resided in Louisiana for approximately 20 years where she enjoyed the nice weather and fishing. She loved conversing with her friend Jody. She also liked playing cards on the computer and TV game shows.
