Ruth Ann Bush

Ruth Ann Bush, 87, of Mattoon, IL passed away at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at her residence in Mattoon, IL.

A Private Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at a later date. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Ruth was born on July 28, 1937, in Humboldt, IL. She was a daughter of Harold and Ruth (Stevens) Louthan. She married Joe Bush on November 2, 1956, in Mattoon, IL. He passed away on May 28, 2014. 

She is survived by one daughter Rhonda Sharp of Neoga, IL, two grandsons, Dustin Levi Sharp of Mattoon, IL and Jordan Randall Sharp of Effingham, IL, two great grandchildren Damon William Sharp and Jolene Sharp. Also, special friend Vicky McCall

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Bush, one son, Randy Bush and one granddaughter, Whitney Michelle Sharp, and two sisters, Jamiee Louthan and Becky Smith.

Ruth was employed at Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company for many years and later retired from Eastern Illinois University Telecommunications Office.
