RUTH KAY CUPPY, 79, of Sullivan, IL formerly of Arcola, IL passed away at 7:20 A.M. on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Edwards Funeral Home. Rev. Ty Nicol will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral.
Kay was born on July 31, 1933 in Charleston, IL. She was a daughter of Roy T. and Gertrude (Robison) Lanman. She married Harold W. Cuppy on October 16, 1954 in Charleston, IL. He passed away on December 18, 2000.
She is survived by two children, Zail Wright and her husband Jeff of Sullivan, IL and Zane Cuppy of Ottawa, IL; two granddaughters, Autum and Amber; one great grandson, Logan and one sister, Norma Townley and her husband Ben of Mattoon, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, one infant son Kipp, a grandson, Randy Wright, her twin brother, Ken Lanman and her sister Kathryn Shrader
Kay was a member of the Kemp Church of Christ. She enjoyed art very much and always looked forward to entering her art in many area art shows. She was also an avid photographer winning many awards at Lakeland College and surrounding county fairs.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially her great-grandson.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
