Ruth Ghere

RUTH IRENE GHERE, 84, of Arcola, IL passed away at 9:10 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2008 at her daughter's residence in Arcola, IL.

Ruth was born July 24, 1923, in Chesterville, IL. She was a daughter of John Garrett and Winona Mae (Schwartz) Grant. She married Bob Lawrence Ghere on February 25, 1942 in Arcola, IL. He passed away May 10, 2002.

Survivors include four daughters; Janice Gee and her husband Terry of Arcola, IL; Sharon Rich of Arcola, IL, Vickie Fifield and her husband Jeff of Austin, TX and Doris Rich and her husband Dave of Urbana, IL; seven grandchildren John Gee and his wife Paula, Mike Gee, Brian Alcorn and his wife Chris, Jamie Rossan and her husband Dale, Marcus and Sean Fifield and C.R. Stephens; four great-grandchildren Sheldon and AJ Gee, Sabrina and Dillan Alcorn; two sisters Nancy Navel and her husband Allen of Arthur, IL and Vivian Rayhel of Mattoon, IL and one sister in-law Betty Grant of Tuscola, IL.

Her parents, her husband Bob Ghere and one brother Everett Abraham Grant preceded her in death.

Ruth was a member of the First Christian Church of Arcola, IL

She worked with her husband Bob in the operation of Bob's Shop, Ruth was his office manager.

Ruth enjoyed her flowers, watching birds, spending time with friends and family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
