SABINA MARY STRADER, 79, of Hindsboro, IL passed away at 7:19 P.M. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Carle Foundation Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main, Arcola, IL. Rev. Mike Ottlinger will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery.
Sabina was born on June 17, 1934 in Kemp, IL. She was the daughter of Carter Alfred and Clara Sabina (Wright) Hayes. She married James Duane Strader on February 1, 1953 in Kemp, IL.
She is survived by husband, J.D. Strader of Hindsboro; three children, Sara Sabina East and her husband Rick of Oakland, Edwin Duane Strader and his wife Caryl of Hindsboro, Cliff Hayes Strader and his wife Michelle of Hindsboro; 7 grandchildren, Jeremy Michael East, James William East, Carter Edwin Strader and his wife Alishia, Claire Elizabeth Strader, Caitlyn Christine Strader, Michael Scott Strader, Hayden James Strader; 3 great-grandchildren, Jordan Strader East, Conner David East, Kiersten Elisabeth East, and a 4th great-grandchild will arrive in September; 1 sister Jeanne Strader of Hindsboro; 1 sister-in-law Joyce Miller of Charleston. Extended family includes Nelson Strader, Myra (Strader) Coy, Dolores (Strader) Dague and her husband Archie, Michael Strader and his wife Gayle, Norman Strader and his wife Marsha, and Don England.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, Carter Edwin Hayes, 3 brother-in-laws, Allen Strader, Kent Coy and Daniel Strader and his wife Linda (Hood), 2 sister-in laws, June (Strader) England and Edna (Owens) Strader and one great-grandchild, Jacob Nathan East.
Sabina worked at the post office for 21 years and retired as Post Master of Hindsboro Post Office.
She was a member of the Hindsboro Christian Church. Sabina enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking. Her faith and family were her life, and she loved visiting with her family and friends. Sabina also had a soft spot in her heart for all animals in general and specifically her cats.
