Sarah Herschberger

Sarah Herschberger, 86, of Arthur, IL passed away at 4:50 AM on Monday, October 10, 2022 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at family residence, 279 North County Road 100 East, Arthur, IL.  Bishop Lavern Schrock will officiate.  Interment will be in the Yoder Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL.  Visitation will be held anytime after 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the family residence and anytime after 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the family residence.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Sarah was born on February 28, 1936 in Arthur, IL.  She was a daughter of Levi and Annie (Hochstetler) Jess.  She married Ura Herschberger on April 2, 1957 in Arthur, IL.  He passed away on March 8, 2017.

She is survived by one daughter, Verna Viola and her husband Jacob A. Miller of Arthur, IL; one son, Levi Herschberger and his wife Elsie of Arthur, IL; 15 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; one sister, Edna Yoder of Sarasota, FL; one brother, John Jess of Arthur, IL; three sisters-in-law, Sovilla Jess of Arthur, IL, Fannie Mae Helmuth of Atwood, IL and Mrs. Andy (Frieda) Miller of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ura Herschberger; her parents, Levi and Annie Jess; three brothers, Henry, Lester and Ervin Jess; two sisters, Gertrude Schrock and Mattie Yoder.

Sarah was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
