Shawn Elizabeth Key

SHAWN KEY, 69, of Panama City, FL formerly of Humboldt, IL passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at her residence.

A celebration of Shawn's life will be held at a later date.

Shawn was born on June 28, 1955, a daughter of Arthur and Judy (Stevens) Key.

She is survived by her mother Judy Key of Humboldt, IL.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Key, and her grandparents, Wayne “Bub” and Ruth Stevens and Charles “Chub” and Minnie Key.

Shawn grew up in Humboldt, IL, graduated from Mattoon High School in 1973.

After High School she worked at Hendrick’s Bottling Company in Mattoon, IL and later attended Lakeland College, working toward becoming an accountant.

In 1991 Shawn moved to Florida to work for Sunshine Gasoline Distributors as an accountant.

She later worked for Sally Mae Corporation, and in 2003 she accepted a position with Walmart. She retired December 31, 2023.

Shawn always enjoyed playing softball. First base being her specialty. She started playing as a young girl around Humboldt and even in Florida for a few years.

Shawn loved cats, and always had one as a pet, Bella being her most recent.
