Shirley worked at Schrock's Cabinet Factory in Arthur, IL as a sprayer before becoming a contract courier for Mayo Clinic until she retired in 2012. Shirley was a cancer survivor. She enjoyed gardening, boating, fishing, camping, painting, and cleaning; however, her absolute favorite was loving on all of her kids and grandkids, even her extended ones. She treasured the time she spent with her best friend Ruth and how close they have grown in the last 33 years. Her smiles, cooking, kindness, and love will be missed every day.
She is survived by her son Mark (Melinda) Quinlan Jr of Macomb, Lisa (Gary) Hopkins of Decatur; stepdaughter, Tracie (Joey) Davis of Walker Louisiana; stepsons, Stephen (Shelley) Daily of Latham, Michael (Karie) Daily of Decatur. Her 14 grandkids and 6 great grandkids. Sister, Harriett Carey of Illiopolis, Grace (Jr) Christopher of Edinburg and Mamie (Alan) Patrick of Farmersville. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Daily, daughter, Julie "Jules" Quinlan, parents, Charles and Bessie Adams, brothers, Benjamin, Franklin, Arthur, Charles, and Joseph Adams.
A special thanks to the staff at DMH and Memorial Medical Center of Springfield, without each of you we wouldn't have had the last 91 days, Ruth Miller, friends from the church, and everyone who sent cards and prayers during the last three months they were truly appreciated.
