Sovilla Kauffman

SOVILLA E. KAUFFMAN, 97, of rural Arthur, IL passed away at 7:53 A.M. Friday, February 5, 2010 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, February 8, 2010 at the Owen Schrock residence, 350 N CR 200 E, Arthur, IL. Bishop Omer Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery in rural Arcola, IL. Visitation will be anytime after 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Owen Schrock residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Sovilla was born on December 8, 1912 in Arthur, IL. She was a daughter of Eli J. and Amanda (Mast) Schrock. She married George A. Kauffman on December 4, 1934 in Arthur, IL. He passed away on April 12, 1983.

Survivors include one son, Floyd G. Kauffman and his wife Lizzie Ann of Arcola, IL; one daughter, Clara Mae Plank and her husband Ivan of Arthur, IL; and one daughter-law Anna Kauffman of Arthur, IL; fifteen grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Sadie Gingerich of Tuscola, IL, Rebecca Miller of Arthur, IL, Gertie Mast and her husband Daniel of Arthur, IL and Edna Herschberger and her husband Levi of Arthur, IL and one sister-in-law Clara Schrock of Arthur, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Eli G. Kauffman, three grandchildren, Raymond Plank, Leroy Plank and Dorothy Marie Schrock; two sisters, Lydia Ann Gingerich and Amanda Miller and one brother, Levi Schrock.

Sovilla enjoyed crocheting and was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith.
