Terry Grider Sr

TERRY L. GRIDER SR., 67, of Decatur, IL passed away at 1:17 A.M. on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the GT Church, 500 South 27th St., Decatur, IL. Burial will be in the North Fork Cemetery in Decatur, IL.

Terry was born on December 2, 1948 in Decatur, IL. He was a son of Walter F. and Dorothy E. (Brown) Grider. He married Marylon Marie Mendenhall on May 15, 1981 in Decatur, IL. She passed away on February 15, 2015.

He is survived by one daughter, Laura Koss of Decatur, IL, three sons, Terry L. Grider Jr., Scott Taylor and his wife Kim and James Grider all of Decatur, IL, twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, Jacob Richard Gordon of Oklahoma City, OK and Scarlett Rose Grider, two special nieces Amber Mendenhall (Mathew Camfield Sr. and their son, Jr., “Chunky Monkey”) and Tina Mendenhall all of Decatur, IL, two brothers, Mark A. Grider and his wife Denise of GA and Walter F. Grider and his wife Laura of Maroa, IL, and two sisters, Loretta L. Borcherding and her husband Rodney and Sheree Shields all of Decatur, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter F. Grider and Dorothy E. Stevenson, and his wife Marylon.

Terry was an Army Veteran.

Terry retired from the City of Mt. Zion Public Works. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, they were his life.
