Terry Peterson

TERRY PETERSON, 55, of Mattoon, IL passed away at 2:07 A.M. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his home in Mattoon, IL.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Central Community Church, 200 Lafayette Avenue East in Mattoon, IL. Pastor Chris Linzey and Pastor Lou Butler will officiate. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Terry was born on October 15, 1956 in Mattoon, IL. He was a son of Leslie and Bessie Dolores (Butler) Peterson. He married Patricia Postlewait on September 24, 1977.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Peterson of Mattoon, IL, two children, Rob Matheny of Mattoon, IL and one daughter Julie Rich and her husband Chad of Mattoon, IL; four grandchildren, Kody Matheny of Neoga, IL, Rhiannon Douglas of Mattoon, IL, Emlyn Rich of Mattoon, IL and Raylon Matheny of Mattoon, IL; three sisters, Anita Boeselager and her husband Gerald of Lincoln, NE, Lyda Adams and her husband Wes of New London, WI and Sandy Hart and her husband Frank of Urbana, IL and two brothers, Dale Peterson and his wife Joyce of Mattoon, IL and Bob Peterson of San Antonia, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Dolores Christianson and one brother, Gary Wayne Peterson.

Terry had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of the Central Community Church in Mattoon, IL.

He had worked for RR Donnelley and Sons Co. for over 33 years.

Terry enjoyed traveling, fishing, spending time with his family and friends and especially his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The American Cancer Society, or Children’s International.
