Ura Herschberger

URA A. HERSCHBERGER, 81, of Arthur, IL passed away at 10:56 A.M. on Wednesday, March 08, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the HCK West Building, 2008 CR 1800 East, one mile south of Arthur, IL. Bishop Lavern Schrock will officiate. Interment will be in the Yoder Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be held any time after 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the HCK West Building and any time after 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the HCK West Building. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Ura was born on October 3, 1935 in Nappanee, IN. He was a son of Ananias B. and Drusilla (Yoder) Herschberger. He married Sarah Jess on April 2, 1957 in Arthur, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Herschberger of Arthur, IL; one daughter, Verna Viola and her husband Jacob A. Miller of Arthur, IL; one son, Levi Herschberger and his wife Elsie of Arthur, IL; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Jacob (Fannie Mae) Helmuth; one brother-in-law, Levi Diener; one sister-in-law, Mrs. David (Freda) Herschberger; and a host of friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Henry Herschberger, David Herschberger and Omer Herschberger; and two sisters, Laura Diener and Verna Viola Herschberger.

Ura was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
