Biography

VINCENT E. “BUDDY” BEYERS, 54, of Tuscola, IL passed away at 12:14 A.M. on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Sullivan Health Care Center in Sullivan, IL.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Arcola, IL. Father Barry Harmon will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Buddy was born on January 18, 1955 in Tuscola, IL. He was a son of James L. and Bertha E. (Reimer) Beyers.

He is survived by one brother, John Beyers and his wife Donna of Ferguson, MO; two sisters, Barbara Hicks of Mahomet and Janice Harris and her husband Joey of Tuscola, IL; nieces and nephews, Jolinda Ross and Tracie Fisher, Jack Beyers and Dawn Hale, Chris Davis and Jeremy Davis and Lindsey Beyers and Katie Harris; and several great-nieces and great-nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William J. “Bill” Beyers and James R. “Jimmy” Beyers, two sister Margaret Ann Beyers and an infant and a brother-in-law, Harry Hicks.

Buddy was baptized at St. John’s Catholic Church in Arcola, IL and he was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church while he lived in Charleston, IL.

He lived at the Smith House in Charleston, IL for over sixteen years. He attended C.C.A.R. and the Charleston Transitional Facility. He competed in the Special Olympics for several years.

He loved to listen to music, dance, watch TV and spend time with family and friends. During quiet time, he could be found sitting at his desk writing.
