Virginia Cain

VIRGINIA E. CAIN,79, of Springfield, formerly of Arcola, IL, passed away at 4:42 P.M. Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Arcola Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Baker will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Edwards Funeral Home 221 E. Main St., Arcola, IL.

Virginia was born January 29, 1930 in Kemp, IL. She was a daughter of Samuel Jefferson and Beulah Margaret (Byerly) Montgomery. She married Billy Dean Beightel December 7, 1947 in Keokuk, IA. He passed away April 30, 1991. She later married Calvin Cain September 27, 1996 in Arcola, IL. He passed away May 11, 2002.

Survivors include 4 children; Janie Childress and her husband Dan of St. Elmo, IL, Ron Beightel and his wife Mary of DeWitt, IL, Billy W. Beightel of Peoria, IL and Ann Vassmer and her husband Mark of Springfield, IL; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters Norma Heitt and her husband Robert of Bakersfield, CA, Sue McCoskey and her husband Joe of Hindsboro, IL, Vivian Taber and her husband John of Sullivan, IL and Nancy Meese and her husband Jim of Ashmore, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one daughter Kathy Lynn Beightel and one brother James Montgomery.

Virginia was a member of the Hindsboro Methodist Church, Oakland Methodist Church and Arcola Methodist Church.

She worked at Cap & Gown in Arcola for 20 years. Virginia enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donor’s choice or The Brain Bank.
