Virginia Embry

VIRGINIA LOIS EMBRY, 81, of Toledo, IL passed away 8: 40 A.M. Thursday, August 7, 2008 at her residence in Toledo, IL.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, August 9, 2008 at The Edwards Funeral Home at 221 East Main Street in Arcola, IL. Father Mike Haag will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Virginia was born March 22, 1927 in Meade County, KY. She was a daughter of Homer James and Idell (Logsdon) Bruner. She married Chester Embry April 16, 1946 in Paynesville, KY.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Chester Embry of Toledo, IL; seven children, Lamar Embry and his wife Debbie of Toledo, IL, Barbara Burns and her husband Jack of Toledo, IL, Ralph Embry and his wife Paula of Ashmore, IL, Allen Embry and his wife Edna of Arcola, IL, Michael Embry of Charleston, IL, Phyllis Madden and her husband Rodney of Newport, ME and Tammie Embry of Mattoon, IL; two brothers, Robert Leo Bruner and his wife Joann and Benny Bruner and his wife Frances all of Brandenbury, KY; two sisters, Marjorie Lamkin also of Brandenbury, KY and Shirley Ann Covington of Jacksonville, FL; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and expecting another great-grandchild this month.

Her parents and one sister, Naomi Wilson preceded her in death.

Virginia was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking, but most of all she loved spending time with her kids.
