Virginia Pearl Taylor, 78, of Oakland, IL passed away at 10:20 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St., Arcola, IL. Rev. Wanda Daniels will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in rural Hindsboro, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral.
Virginia was born on July 19, 1946 in Tuscola, IL. She was the daughter of Joseph Layle and Pearl Lucille (Tate) Clough. She married Glen Colin Taylor on September 7, 1967 in Camargo, IL; he passed away on June 22, 2021.
She is survived by one son, Ronald Eugene Taylor of Arcola, IL and one sister, Pamela Frericks of Robinson, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Colin Taylor, three sisters, Carol Layton, Linda Mitchell and Debra Clough, and five brothers, Clyde Russell Clough, Doylal Wayne Clough, Donnie Joe Clough, Bruce Dean Clough and Allan Layle Clough.
Virginia graduated from Charleston High School.
Virginia had worked as a CNA at We Care Nursing home in Arcola, IL and at Boxwood Nursing Home in Newman, IL. She also worked at Fabrionics in Camargo and at Zenith in Paris, IL. She was working at the Corner Café in Chesterville, IL when she retired.
She was a member of Power Of The Cross Worship Center in Mattoon, IL
Back in the day she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, reading, and fishing. She was a great cook. Her favorite thing to do was simply spend time with her family.
