Wanda Casteel

WANDA GAIL CASTEEL, 70, of Arcola, IL, passed away at 9:45 A.M. Friday, April 29, 2011.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Edwards Funeral Home. Rev. Dale Tomas officiated. Burial was in the Arcola Cemetery in Arcola, IL. Visitation was held two hours before the funeral at the funeral home.

Wanda was born on February 11, 1941 in Tompkinsville, KY. She was a daughter of Caleb and Hazel (Hale) Wood. She married Kenneth Casteel on August 14, 1970 in Arcola, IL.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth Casteel of Arcola, IL; four children, Pat McLane and her husband Matt, Tom Reece and (Debbie), Angie Ziegler and Travis Casteel and (Nicki) all of Arcola, IL; nine grandchildren, Jadie and Jaren, Zac and Chelsea, Austin, Jade, Faith, Sophia and Nevaeh; five great-grandchildren, Amaya, Miles and Tyrus, Nolyn and Brently; two sisters, her mother, Hazel Wood of Arcola, IL; Jadie Wood of Arcola, IL and Peggy Allen and her husband Leonard “Gene” of Arcola, IL; and two brothers, Stanley Woods of Mattoon, IL and Larry Wood and his wife Robin of Arcola, IL.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Wanda had worked at The Thomas Monahan Co. and later at Libman Broom Co.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
