Wayne E. Otto, 75 of Arthur, IL passed away at 3:35 P.M. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church, 475 E. St. Rt. 133, Arcola, IL. Rev. Larry Rocke and Rev. Luke Goss will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Mennonite Church Cemetery. Visitations will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the church. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Wayne was born on May 14, 1945 in Coles County, IL. He was a son of Eli D. and Sadie E. (Herschberger) Otto. He married Marie Stutzman on March 31, 1966 in Arthur, IL.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Otto of Arthur, IL, three children, Anthony Otto of Goshen, IN, Trish McClain (Steve) of Atwood, IL and Earl Otto (Megan) of Goshen, IN, grandchildren, Heather Blacka (Brandon) of Eagle Mountain, UT, Samantha, Scott and Tiffany McClain all of Atwood, IL, Emileigh, Kayleigh and Rhyan Otto, step-grandchild, Zaveah Allen all of Goshen, IN, great-grandchildren, Daisy and Barry Blacka, step-great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Kathryn Blacka all of Eagle Mountain, UT, brothers, Daniel Otto (Ada) of Wilmot, OH, Paul Otto (Dorothy) of Arthur, IL, David Otto (Sandra) Middlebury, IN, JR Otto (Terria) of Mattoon, IL, and Robert Otto (Loretta) of Shipshewana, IN and one sister, Fannie Stutzman (Eli) of Garrett, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eli and Sadie Otto.
Wayne was a member of the Sunnyside Mennonite Church in Arcola, IL.
He started working in the Drywall industry when he was 16 years old. Wayne worked for Schrock Drywall for well over 50 years. He has repaired sewing machines and taxied Amish for the past five years.
Wayne enjoyed drinking coffee at Yoder’s in Arthur, first thing in the morning and also in the afternoon.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
