WAYNE B. SWARTZ, 89, of Arcola, IL and formerly of Oakland, IL passed away 1:57 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Wayne was born on September 13, 1918 in rural Assumption, IL. He was a son of Kenton Eugene and Pearl Elsie (Hilbrant) Swartz. He married Margaret Louise McQueen on October 17, 1942 in Fairfield, IL. She passed away January 21, 2006.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Griffiths and her husband Jim of Toledo, IL; one son Randall Wayne Swartz and his wife Letitia of Shelbyville, IL; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

His parents and one sister, Bessie Tucker preceded him in death.

Wayne was a retired farmer. He farmed in the Oakland area for over forty years. He was a member of the Antioch Church of rural Oakland. He was also a Mason. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
