WILLIAM and MAXINE COX, of Arcola, IL both entered into God’s Heavenly Kingdom this past week. Maxine passed away at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Arcola, IL and Bill passed away at 12:31 P.M. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Funeral services for Bill and Maxine will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main in Arcola, IL. Rev. Ivan Jess and Rev. Kent Conover will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the funeral home.
Bill was born in Hindsboro, IL on October 01, 1927. He was a son of Lewis T. and Ruth L. (Wendell) Cox. Maxine was born on December 28, 1925 in Chicago, IL. She was a daughter of Pinkney Moses and Barbara Gertrude (Hummel) Cain. Bill and Maxine were married on September 27, 1947 in Urbana, IL.
They are survived by five children, Jerry Heidlebaugh and his wife Susanne of Alto Pass, IL, Janet Perrey and her husband Richard of Spokane, WA, Debra Walker and her husband Bruce of Tuscola, IL, Ruth Ann King of Sullivan, IL and Diana Miller and her husband Daryl of Arcola, IL; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Bill has one brother, Frank Cox and his wife Barbara of Arcola, IL and one sister Wilma Fonner of Urbana, IL. Maxine has two brothers, Clifford Cain and his wife Clara of Wolf Lake, IL and Collin “Corky” Cain and his wife Sue of Arcola, IL and one sister, Shirley Schweighart and her special friend John Waldrop of Tuscola, IL.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Junior, Don, Ron and Calvin Cain.
Bill and Maxine were members of the First Church of The Nazarene in Arcola, IL.
Bill retired from Industrial Roofing. After retiring he worked at J and M in Arcola, IL. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and drinking coffee at the Hen House.
Maxine enjoyed singing gospel music and operated a music shop from her home for several years called El Shaddai Emporium.
Bill and Maxine enjoyed more than sixty four years together and their love story ends with Life Everlasting with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
