WILLIAM “BILL” DAVIS, 68, of Tuscola formerly of Arcola, IL, passed away at 9:04A.M. Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Bill was born March 17, 1940 in Decatur, IL. He was a son of Raymond Chester and Bertha Ellen (Swartz) Davis. He married Sue Wilcoxen on June 23, 1960 in Atwood, IL.
Survivors include his wife Sue Davis of Tuscola, IL; his children Scott Davis and his wife Margie of Urbana, IL, Tracy Hatten and her husband Rod of Arthur, IL, Beth Pattin and her fiancé Brent Knuckles of Gilbert, AZ, Mike Davis and his wife Lisa of New Lenox, IL, Marilyn Durbin and her husband Dave of Blue Mound, IL, Chris Davis of Monticello, IL and Christi Scott and her husband Mike of Monticello, IL; Children of the Heart-Chip and Rhonda Fair, Dawn Teak of Tuscola, and Bill’s Dog Wilbur; 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; one sister Gini Welsh of Peoria, IL.
His parents; one daughter Lindi Davis; one brother Dale Davis and one sister Betty Behymer all preceded him in death.
Bill was an Army Veteran. He retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation as a mechanic with over 26 years of service.
Bill was a member of the Mattoon Moose, the Odd Fellow Rebecca Lodge at Arthur and the Teamsters Union # 126.
Bill was a great husband and dad and he really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
